Black Girls Brunch announces DC event during CBC Weekend at Brooklyn on U
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Black Girls Brunch, a unique brunch experience curated for black women, which began in Phoenix, Arizona—is now making its way across the country to the nation's capital. Black Girls Brunch: DC Edition, will take place at the all new two-story restaurant and lounge Brooklyn on U (1212 U St NW, Washington, DC 20009) on Sunday, September 15, 2019 from 12pm to 4pm EST.
The brunch experience, led by entrepreneur and HBCU graduate Gaybrielle LeAnn Gant, seeks to provide a safe and inclusive space for black women to connect, celebrate and collaborate while building community through sisterhood. The brunch experience has successfully attracted more than 1,000 loyal attendees in the Phoenix market alone.
Due to overwhelming inquiries of this experience being made available to women across the country, Black Girls Brunch is taking the brunch to new cities to reach more black women. D.C. was selected as the second city to host the experience and the brunch will take place during Congressional Black Conference Annual Legislative Conference. This annual event attracts thousands of African Americans from across the globe to discuss issues from an African American perspective.
Black Girls Brunch delivers an exclusive brunch experience for Black Women, in collaboration with highly regarded local restaurants that provide superb quality food and drinks. Brooklyn on U is a new chic, two story establishment in the heart of DC that boasts delicious brunch menu items such as Maryland Crab Cakes and Chicken with Mumbo Sauce.
Black Girls Brunch is also staffed exclusively with black women. Music for the D.C. Edition features music by DJ Rikkie Tee of Basement Tapes Phoenix, the Black Girls Brunch resident DJ. There is no official program for the event, instead organic networking and interaction are the key ingredient to what makes Black Girls Brunch a special, one-of-a-kind experience. The team collaborates on making sure attendees are able to create unforgettable memories with new sister-friends.
“You have NO idea what this event did to my soul. It has truly nurtured a part of me that has been missing. It was a breath of life...” was shared by a new attendee who joined the last sold out event in Phoenix on August 18, 2019 at Arizona Cardinal Westgate plaza restaurant, The Lola, where more than 150 women were in attendance.
Limited tickets are available, early ticket purchases are encouraged. Advance tickets can be purchased online at www.blackgirlsbrunch.com/shop. Bottomless Mimosas and Entree ticket options cost $55. Entree only tickets are available for $40. Commemorating event t-shirts “Brunch is MMM” and “BGB Signature” are available online for purchase.
